How to Check DBT-Linked Bank Account Online

DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) is a system used by the Government of India to transfer benefits such as subsidies, pensions, scholarships, and scheme payments directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts.

If you want to know which bank account is mapped for receiving Aadhaar-based DBT payments, follow the steps below.

Method 1: Check DBT Bank Account Status Through UIDAI

  1. Visit the official MyAadhaar Portal.
  2. Log in using your Aadhaar number and OTP.
  3. Look for the Bank Seeding Status or Aadhaar-bank linking service.
  4. Check the bank name and status displayed on the screen.

Note: The displayed status may reflect the bank account mapped in the NPCI system for Aadhaar-based DBT payments.

Method 2: Check Through NPCI

  1. Visit the official NPCI Aadhaar Seeding Status Portal.
  2. Follow the instructions provided on the portal.
  3. Enter the requested details and complete verification, if required.
  4. Check the displayed Aadhaar seeding or bank mapping status.

What Does the Status Mean?

Status Meaning
Active / Seeded Aadhaar seeding is recorded in the relevant system. Confirm the displayed bank mapping and eligibility for the scheme.
Inactive / Not Seeded Aadhaar seeding may not be active or recorded for DBT. Contact your bank for verification.
No Record Found The system could not find the requested record. Verify your details or contact your bank.

The exact status labels may differ depending on the portal.

What If the Wrong Bank Account Is Linked?

If the displayed bank is not the one you want to use for Aadhaar-based DBT payments:

  1. Visit your preferred bank branch.
  2. Request Aadhaar seeding and mapping in the NPCI mapper for DBT.
  3. Complete the bank's required consent and verification process.
  4. Check the status again after the bank processes your request.

Important Information

  • Aadhaar-bank linking and NPCI mapping are related but not always the same thing.
  • DBT payments may depend on the scheme's rules and the beneficiary's eligibility.
  • For a missing or delayed payment, also check the relevant scheme's payment status.
  • Never share your Aadhaar OTP, ATM PIN, or banking password with anyone.
