I recently upgraded to an Android 14 device. My Pax D180 Micro-ATM connects via Bluetooth, but whenever I initiate a cash withdrawal, the app shows:

Device disconnected or Bluetooth pairing timeout

It worked perfectly on Android 11. How do I fix Bluetooth permissions on Android 13/14?

Which Micro-ATM / mATM device are you currently using at your counter?

Android 12+ introduced granular Nearby Devices permissions. To fix this:

  1. Go to: Phone Settings → Apps → [Your Banking App] → Permissions
  2. Set Nearby devices → Allow
  3. Set Location → Allow all the time with Precise location enabled

This is a one-time setup. The app should auto-reconnect to the D180 after the change.

Also unpair the Pax D180 from Android's native Bluetooth settings first.

The mATM SDK initiates its own direct RFCOMM socket connection inside the retailer app. If the device is already paired and locked in Android OS Bluetooth, the app cannot claim the socket — resulting in timeout errors.

Steps:

  1. Go to Bluetooth Settings → Find Pax D180 → Forget / Unpair it.
  2. Reopen the banking app and let it handle pairing internally.
